Set Report on Jean Rollin's New FilmOh - it's in French. The report. And the film. But, uh, that you probably knew already.
"You don't have to kill me, Jean. I already told - AND THEY DON'T CARE!!"
I'll definitely pick it up if it is released by say (Shriek Show/Media Blasters).
LA FIANCÉE DE DRACULA was decent, definitely an improvement on THE TWO VAMPIRE ORPHANS, and a return to Rollin's "old style".
I read in an interview that Rollin said that his next film would be his last and a summation of sorts of his earlier vampire films, re-using old parts with only one hour of new material, but this project seems to be an entirely new one??
For what it's worth, based on a single viewing of TWO VAMPIRE ORPHANS (there would have been others, but Media Blasters' first issue was a bad PAL conversion, my copy of the fixed transfer lacked subtitles, and I won't watch the dubtrack), I found it one of Rollin's strongest, and certainly most charming films. It struck me as very much in his 'old style', and actually quite pure at that.
I'll be open to anyone making THE TRANSFIGURED NIGHT available here in the states, but hope that someone besides Media Blasters gets the nod. The fact that John Sirabella is on record as not caring for Rollin's movies doesn't help matters. I'd much rather that a more careful, responsive company, one with an affinity for Rollin, gets the rights. I'm hoping for Severin, myself. That is, unless Don May's interested...
