There's a really crappy looking version available on some of those "10 movies for $5.95!!!" sets they sell at Best Buy- it looks like it was mastered from a battered 16mm print (complete with splices and frequently missing footage) and recorded directly to VHS tape using a 1980s-era camcorder pointed at a wall the image was being projected onto. It's REALLY that bad...

As I understand it, Don May was (is?) trying to do this title with Synapse, but was having a really hard time tracking down original film elements, which the rights holders have seemingly let go missing. Hopefully, somewhere in a vault somebody will find the original elements for this film and we can have a good DVD release, since the scenery is so great. Properly mastered, this should look SUPERB on DVD, and it's a damn good flick, too. Maybe if the proper elements turn up, the early Brad Fiedel score can be remixed in stereo, too.
