Title: R.I.P. Video Vertigo
Description: another one bites the dust

Sadly, Seattle's great cult video store, Video Vertigo, will soon be no more. They just announced that they are closing after 18 years in the neighborhood and they will be greatly missed- a little slice of 42nd Street on Capitol Hill, gone forever. This afternoon, Rob had a giant blowout sale, with most of his vhs inventory marked down to $5-7 and most of his dvd's down to $7-10. The sale started at noon and when I got there at 12:10, the place was packed with people pillaging the shelves. Most of what I'd hoped to get was already gone, but I was able to grab his copies of Zabriske Point, The Apple, The Incident, More, Shadows, and the Lost Highway widescreen vhs. I wish I had about a hundred bucks to drop there, but I'll have to settle for six titles that will stand on my shelf as momentos as one of the greatest video stores I've ever had the pleasure to be a regular at. If you read this board and live in Seattle, then you know what a great place it was. Stop by and wish Rob luck. Hopefully, he and his awesome collection of exploitation one-sheets will be staying in the neighborhood. I look forward to running into him at Northwest Film Forum late nights and supporting whatever venture he moves on to next.
