I missed this USA TODAY story of Jeremy Slate's passing last month. He was 80. Slate was one of the 1960s' busiest actors, including a regular gig on the one-season THE AQUANAUTS, co-starring with Elvis in GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS!, battling Billy Jack in THE BORN LOSERS and writing and starring in the biker flick HELL'S ANGELS '69.
Slate worked consistently in Hollywood for more than 30 years. I was pretty surprised to see him pop up in a MY NAME IS EARL last season.

Very sad. Someone had told me I died.
Mr. Slate, where ever you are, I really enjoyed THE DEAD PIT.
Jeremy Slate was a first rate actor. He did loads of TV in the 60s, always made an impression

Oh -- that guy...
I remember him in ONE LIFE TO LIVE....
I believe Code Red DVD, who have the rights to THE DEAD PIT, had recently recorded a commentary track with Slate (along with the director) as well as exclusive interview footage with Slate, for their upcoming DVD release of the film. It seems like it was just in the nick of time, and it will be nice to see and hear Slate reminisce about his DEAD PIT experiences. Sad to see him go.
