Title: GRINDHOUSE "trailer" on YouTube
Marty McKee - October 11, 2006 02:58 PM (GMT)
I don't think this is an actual trailer, more like preview clips and probably the same video shown at the San Diego Comic Con. Whatever it is, it kicks major ass.
GRINDHOUSE

jesus, and this is the rodriguez part! i can't imagine the whole thing when its put together...
i'm kind of annoyed with the mainstream critics that are saying QT is better than these exploitation type movies...i completely disagree, if they want to crank movies out like this every few years, i'd be completely extatic...

It's kind of an interesting thought, isn't it? Maybe Tarantino...really isn't any better than those old movies, but these critics have to believe that he is, because "well, gosh, those movies are crap, and there's no way I'd ever be caught dead watching garbage like SWITCHBLADE SISTERS."
And that's ignoring the arguable fact that directors like Jack Hill and many others could have made more reputable films had they the opportunity, inclination and/or money to do so. Jeff Lieberman, Gary Sherman...you think those guys couldn't direct a PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie better than Gore Verbinski?

I tried to come up with some brilliant comment about what I just saw but, Marty, you nailed it...

This clip looks like it features scenes from two different movies. Most of the footage seems to have come from a zombie movie, but then there's the unrelated Danny Trejo stuff. I thought the zombie stuff looked great, and the opening clip of the go-go dancer looks like it was culled straight out of the Something Weird catalogue. The gore effects were impressive as well. I thought the MACHETE stuff, however, was pretty lame. Gags like the jacket filled with machetes seem to have more in common with bad comic books than good exploitation movies.
I've heard that Tarantino and Rodriguez are making fake trailers to show before the features, and I'm hoping the Trejo bit is just a trailer.

Exactly and then some...

That's a shortened version of what they showed at Comic-Con, where MACHETE was clearly delineated as a trailer. Rodriguez or Tarantino, I can't remember which, said that they could make GRINDHOUSE 2 out of a couple of the trailers that appear in GRINDHOUSE, i.e. expanding the trailers into features of their own.

The clip was removed, where else can I see it?

If they ever re-air the "2006 SPIKE TV SCREAM AWARDS" you can see it there, that's where it orig. aired and the youtube clip was taken from a recording of that program..... (there was a spike logo in the corner)

I found a site that still has the preview. Considering how thorough the clean-up's been, who knows how much longer it'll be up. In fact by posting the link I might be speeding up its demise. So I won't. Email me if you want the link. Might as well make the clean-up squad earn their pay.
Here's a site that has some nice pics:

I dunno, man. I love the MACHETE trailer. If there ever is a GRINDHOUSE2, I hope they expand that.
That whole trailer is just so cool, it brough a tear to my eye.
