I am a fan of the original and am looking forward to this one (trailer is in Quicktime and takes a while to load). And hearing Schifrin's music again gave me goosebumps.

AMITYVILLE returns

My only "beef" with this trailer is that it uses the same old "Based On The True Story" stuff that obviously isn't true. The CHAINSAW remake pulled this, too, and it seems incredibly misleading. Funny thing is... I think this trailer uses the EXACT same font to say this as the TCM remake trailer.

Sure, the DeFeo family was murdered in the house but... come on... we all know by now that the whole "haunted house" stuff was made up by the Lutz family after they moved in, don't we?

Still, it looks fun and I am a fan of the whole "mythology" behind this house, no matter how silly... wonder if they'll actually have a computer-generated floating pig and a stop-motion lion statue biting ankles?

The original has always been one of my guilty pleasures of the late seventies and this brief trailer has promise for the remake but we'll see...

I love the music for the original and I doubt it'll be used for the remake. Could be wrong.
