Title: New BATMAN BEGINS trailer

Judging from this trailer, this one looks very promising. The only problem I forsee is that the summer "We want action RIGHT NOW!" crowd might be very peeved at the scenes with Liam Neeson and Bruce Wayne's introspection.

Seems like Hollywood is finally going to do the character justice & make the other Burton/Schumacher Films look ridiculous...Besides the SCARECROW, we also get RA'S AL GHUL & THE LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS...Some of that TIBET sequence made me think of THE SHADOW & how he learned the secrets to "cloud men's minds"...I disliked the other films, yet with the quality given to SPIDERMAN/X-MEN these days, this hopefully will put the DC Characters back on the map(One thing I am hoping for is that they correct that it was "JOE CHILL" who killed the WAYNES, not the JOKER!)...

Between this film and the new Will Wonka movie I am very excited about next year's blockbuster films.

The Joe Chill / Joker thing never really bothered me. I may be wrong, but didn't Bill Finger invent Joe Chill for a fifties Batman story anyway? I always thought that Bruce Wayne might see his parents' killer in every villain he fights.

Wow - So far everything I've seen or heard about this new Batman film has got me itchin' to see it.

The only thing that bothers me, and I've started a thread on this back at the "old" Mobius, is the costume.

batsuit

The two things that get my goat are:

- The bat symbol on his chest isn't black (I've never seen anyone depict his costume this way in any comic - if anyone else has, let me know and I'll admit that I'm full of doo-doo). Would it have killed them to darken it just slightly?

- The mask. Maybe Warner Brothers requested that the designers make it similar to the earlier films but I think this new mask looks just as bulky and uncomfortable as the ones Keaton and company sported. If this updated Batman is a high-flyin' martial arts expert I would think that his costume would allow for total mobility. It would make more sense for him to wear something closer to Ben Affleck's mask in DAREDEVIL - almost a helmet of sorts that covers the top of the head to just below the ears. Then, underneath could be something akin to a scuba diver's top that wraps around the base of his skull and tapers into the cape- make everything jet black and you're in business.

But, whatta ya gonna do? Complain?
