As my wife and I were barely enduring the execrable GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER on TV tonight - our six year old daughter eventually insisted that we change over to SPONGE BOB SQUAREPANTS - our conversation strayed to wretched holiday TV specials of the past.

Suddenly, we both hit on CHRISTMAS IN PAC-LAND, a Pac-Man Christmas tie-in that aired only once, we think, either in 1981 or 1982.

Does anybody else remember this speck of holiday swill? And more importantly, is it available anywhere on tape or DVD? Inquiring minds want to know, even off board, if you catch my drift.

I vaguely remember this special. The full title is "Christmas come to Pac-Land." It does look like it got a legit VHS release as the review of the tape linked below (with framegrabs!) has a pic of the VHS tape.

In the framegrabs available on the above linked website, the Cartoon Network logo can be clearly seen so CHRISTMAS COMES TO PAC-LAND must be available for pick-up and it could air on the Cartoon Network sometime this holiday season.

I remember seeing this as a kid and being really annoyed at the actress's voice that was utilized for Miss Pac-Man -- I had several Pac-Man adventures on 45 LPs that were paired with cheap storybooks and had become accustomed to the actress features on the 45's.

Thanks for bringing back some warm memories.

I would love to see this sucker! I'd never even heard of it before this thread but now I have a new goal- to see this Christmas show!
