Title: Ebert's commentary for BVD

Roger Ebert's commentary for BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS is pretty decent - entertaining and a real insider's look into the making of madness.

But I noticed a couple of stumbles and some word tripping - especially when scenes come up with mucho nudity - Ebert drops his words or goes silent but gathers himself enough to explain the nudity in question and how Meyer could have inserted more flesh into the mix.

Ebert seems genuinely proud of the film and doesn't seem to hold anything back that may have happened while he was penning this masterpiece.

He is, however, very forgiving when it comes to the film's many cinematic and screenplay cliches - cliches that would otherwise kill a movie today. But the whole thing is tongue planted firmly in cheek (to use an old cliche) - so it works.
