Title: Russ Meyer recommendations?

Bernie Jacobs - December 3, 2004 08:51 PM (GMT)
Which Russ Meyer films have the best nudity to violence ratio?

Because I am a big fan of his taste in women, his sense of humor and his photography but sometimes his over-the-top violence is too much (for me) to be funny. And it makes it harder to share with my SO.

I love FASTER PUSSYCAT but of course it's more - ahem! - restrained than some of his other films. I also love parts of UP! but other parts just squick me out. And BVD, but still waiting for a ratio-corrected disk to appear.

So I'm asking the experts here for recommendations -- which RM has the most nudity & humor with the least violence?

Thanks!

SPOILERS

Definitely not SUPERVIXENS, which has an incredibly brutal murder scene that's quite jarring when compared to the tone of the rest of the picture.

MOTOR PSYCHO has no nudity and standard '60s-style violence.

I would recommend VIXEN!, which doesn't contain any violence, outside of some scuffling and a bump on the head, but is filled with typically top-heavy Meyer women, including the startling Erica Gavin, who engages in a farily graphic lesbian sex scene.

Common Law Cabin has a good mix, in my opinion. There is some of nudity and the violence is on a par with Faster, Pussycat. AND it stars the incredible Alaina Capri.

Not his greatest, but BENEATH THE VALLEY OF THE ULTRAVIXENS has a ton of nudity and virtually no violence. And it's an unapologetic comedy.

Don't forget Mondo Topless! No violence. No plot. Plenty of lovelies & groovy music.

Thank you all -- this is exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

Now, can anyone tell me whatever happened to the old Mobius reviews? Have they been archived somewhere? Are they accessible?
