Title: Watch my very short movie!
Description: Cheap plug

William S. Wilson - April 24, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
I remember back in the old days of Mobius when a few nifty short films by posters were on the site. Well, here is my cheap attempt to bring it back via YouTube. Here is my quicky short (1 min 38 sec) that spoofs a famous shark movie. It is the first in what I consider the "ferretsploitation" genre. Another other filmmakers (I use that term loosely with myself) have stuff up they want to share? Enjoy and leave feedback if you want.

Yes!

http://www.archive.org/details/wrongcoat - My senior thesis project, a 13-minute experimental film with creepy carnies and industrial decay and a little bit of stopmotion.

And for those of you who have already seen that one, here's something a little more accessible:

http://www.archive.org/details/salesmanreborn - A 3-minute techno-horror-comedy.

PS. William S. Wilson--I couldn't view your film! It says it's "loading" but it doesn't seem to be making much progress.

Perfect! Having been ferret bait in the past myself (I get a twinge in the ear lobe where I was bit while sleeping on 'its' sofa-nest till this day), I especially appreciated this.

You're off by a few years, William. Back in my ferret period, I made a film called FERRETS, FERRETS EVERYWHERE. If memory serves, it starred my then pet Fergie, Green Lantern and perhaps a Micronaut. Now I'm thinking I have to dig it out to prove it to you.

It was a lot of fun, by the way.

Just downloaded and watched this. Great job. I really liked the editing during the surgery scene. That must have been maddening to do. And the end is really haunting with the monster slowly lurching through the snowcovered darkness. I'm downloading your senior thesis now.

As for my film, give it another shot. Sometimes YouTube is cranky.

Dammit! I guess that makes me the Tarantino of the ferretsploitation genre. By all means throw it up!

Thanks; I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's part of my master plan to make humorous films without jokes. Fortunately my friends turned out to be decent actors (and the Salesman was a good sport about having to shave off all his body hair afterward).

Sean! YOU RULE! That was better than my stupid movie!

** For the record, Sean appeared in one of my movies impersinating Dan Akroyd's ciggrette dangling trick.**

This started as a script for a 30-minute film that my friends and I (who, obviously, after viewing this, had never acted, directed or even picked up a camcorder before) had grand plans for. Ultimately reality set in and we jammed most of the concepts into a 4-minute short. We didn't "storyboard", though, and since we only had one night to use our location, we forgot to film a few crucial scenes at the end :P So I had to take our existing footage and try to edit creatively, which didn't really help much, rendering the conclusion pretty much incomprehensible. Oh well...you'll see blood! bad acting! lines from Star Trek! It's DEXTER GOES TO HELL! (Also check out METAL HEAD while you're there, which needs some editing but I'm too lazy to do it...)

Indeed I did! Thanks for posting that. I like the severed hand bit and when it got surreal with Boba Fett showing up. Lucas has a cease and desist in the mail as of 2 seconds ago. :)
