Title: Spaghetti western DVD boxset on Dvd.it
Description: Yet more queries on region 2 releases

Just spotted what looks to be a remarkably good-value boxset of Italian westerns on dvd.it's website: 7 films for just 42.99 Euros (just over 6 Euros per film!), under the collective title COF. COLT COLLECTION. Films included:

[Never heard of this one...anyone able to shed any light on its worth?]

Assuming that the films contained in thes set are identical to the individual releases of the same titles (available separately at 16.99 Euros a pop), they ought to offer 16/9 transfers and 5.1 audio (Italian only, naturally, but I'm hard-pressed to imagine a day when someone's going to rush out an English-friendly edition of INDIO BLACK/ADIOS SABATA) - and one can always synch-up a VHS tape with the DVD to get the English dub track (assuming both are PAL)... This looks like a great deal, and I'm sorely tempted to give it a shot...but thought I'd check here to see if anyone had heard good/bad things about these releases through the grapevine.

There's an English-language version of ADIOS SABATA coming out in Japan next month if that's of any use?

A Trinityesque comedy starring, you guessed it, Terence Hill.

The Japanese ADIOS SABATA DVD was originally available a couple of years ago, in the "Sabata Saga" Box Set, while the single-disc release has actually been out for nearly a year now...it is a very nice presentation.

Miles, is that disc anamorphic? I had the Macaroni BANDIDOS a while back and - as with a few of their discs - wish it was 16x9.

Thanks for the suggestions re: the Japanese disc(s)...but I'm afraid that they're a little out of my price range! With Eurocult items, especially titles I've seen dozens of times over, affordability is really a key factor in deciding whether I need/want to pick up a DVD...and, for the price of two Criterions (Criteria?) I'm not sure I could justify splashing out on an admittedly fun but hardly essential spaghetti. A horrifying admission, particularly on this board, but there it is.

By the way, does anyone have the URL for that Spaghetti Westerns message forum handy? It's just possible they might have some info on these Italian DVD releases...
