I have a question about titles. When the new Mobius was reborn, I noticed that leading posters had the title "Mobian God" in contrast to the normal status of "Newbie," "Fledgling Mobian," and "Mobian." I have noticed some of the more frequent posters have surpassed 1000 posts and they haven't been upgraded to a new title reflecting their more prolific output.

This question has no bearing on cinematic technique or movie appreciation but I just want to be sure I'm not imagining this whole "Mobian God" thing. I distinctly remember moderator Marty McKee and catholic film afficinado Brian Camp once being "Mobian Gods" but now they're just "Mobians" like the rest of us. Was there ever such as tag in the first place and is there something beyond "Mobian" if you hit 10K posts? 100K? A million? Is there some sort of "Class Special A"--recalling the Japanese film "Avalon"--at the end of the tunnell?

I recognise that this is a peculiar if not somewhat existential question to raise on a movie fandom board. I am, however, curious nonetheless about what happend to the old tag and if there are titles beyond "Mobian" once you hit some astronomically high post number. Please forgive my kooky query but I just had the funny urge to know this information all of a sudden.

Seriously, your memory is correct - there was initially a "Mobian God" tag. Todd will no doubt correct me if I'm mistaken, but as I recall it was simply another tag for which the default number of posts to achieve it was set fairly low, like the other tags. Once it became apparent that we were going to be at Invisionfree a while instead of the short time that had originally been envisioned, Todd reset the thresholds for each tag considerably higher than the default number. I'm not sure if "Mobian God" still exists, or what the post threshold is to achieve it, if it does.

Dave is correct; you weren't imagining things. The category did indeed exist and was initially set at a relatively low number of postings, but it was modified once I realized we would be on this godforsaken rock longer than anticipated. I won't reveal the revised threshold, but I'm sure once it's attained you'll hear about it. There are many levels of enlightenment on the Mobius boards; seek, and you shall be rewarded. (;
