Can anybody shed more light on the DVD production history of THE NEW BARBARIANS?
It was originally listed as a Blue Underground title, but ended up being released by Shriek Show. The commentary track is moderated by BU's David Gregory ... and it's the first Shriek Show release I've encountered to be properly flagged for progressive scan players. I'm curious about when it transferred hands from one company to the other, and why ... especially if it had anything to do with the ZOMBIE arrangement.
Also, is HIGH CRIME still part of Blue Underground's upcoming Castellari box set? Mondo-Digital only lists BIG RACKET, STREET LAW and HEROIN BUSTERS ... but HIGH CRIME is my favourite of his crime flicks.
THE NEW BARBARIANS indeed switched parties due to some of the ZOMBIE negotiations.
As it currently stands, Blue Underground will not be releasing Castellari's HIGH CRIME.
