Title: THE KILLER MUST KILL AGAIN
Description: review of Mondo Macabro's upcoming DVD

Michael Blanton - November 10, 2004 12:38 AM (GMT)
I looks like Mondo Macabro has done it again with this upcoming R1 NTSC DVD.

DVD Maniacs (see link below for site, no direct link to review currently available) has given a superlative review to Luigi Cozzi's giallo THE KILLER MUST KILL AGAIN.

Looks like it's chock full of extras too, including a commentary with the director and Pete Tombs, two interviews with the director, and a Mondo doc on Gialli (originally included on DEATH WALKS AT MIDNIGHT), plus biographies, still galleries, production notes, a trailer and alternate opening credits.

The only downside is that this review is two months and 16 days before street date. Now THAT is torture.

Here's that direct link to their review. Sounds like a cool flick. My previous Cozzi experience is limited to BU's Contamination disc, and I enjoyed that flick quite a bit, trashy though it may be(maybe that's *why* I liked it).

This is very different to any other Cozzi film. It's gritty, downbeat, sadistic and very well made (albeit cheaply). Don't go expecting any of his normal cheesy nonsense, it's darker than a moonless night. Good on Mondo for bringing it out, I'm looking forward to it!

One of the best gialli out there.

And having seen a screener of the print - it looks amazing too. Anyone who likes Euro-Cult movies - must must must have this on their shelves.

And I'm not saying that because I helped out with extras, etc for this release, promise... :P

Kit, I thought that you had got several more people to interview for this disc. Did that fall through or...? I was sorta shocked when I read the DVD Maniacs review. 1) because it's so damn early and 2) the extras weren't everything I thought was going to be included.

The DVD arrived yesterday and after a few glimpses I can say that this disc is absolutely brilliant! Picture quality and extras are both fantastic, especially for such a rare and minor film.

Oh, if just every Giallo could get a release like this... Beautiful job, Mondo Macabro!

You guys have sold me! I'm gonna buy this over recent LIZARD debacle in consumer protest!
