I just caught this on the schedule and it's to repeat this evening. Still MIA on dvd as far as I know.

Watched it and was delighted to finally see a widescreen copy of this film. I never realized how much was missing in the pan and scan versions I've seen broadcast for years, even on cable. HEY!! 20TH!! WAKE UP!! THIS ONE IS SCREAMING FOR A DVD RELEASE!!!

Was this released on widescreen LD? I've got a widescreen VHS dub off an older cable broadcast...love this film!!!

. . . yes, there was a widescreen LD of the original film released in 1991 - at least according to the rental inventory online at Scarecrow Video here in Seattle . . . since they seem to have a copy of just about everything (or at least a record of having had it at one time or another), they are a pretty good resource for questions like this . . .
