I currently have the Anchor Bay DVD of this classic Michael Armstrong offering and would like to hear what others think about the Blue Underground upgrade. Is it just that, is it worth the upgrade, and I'm not talking about extras, but with it's technical aspects like print and audio differences.

This could open up another can of worms but did anyone notice the aspect ration of BU's disc is listed at 1.78:1, while the old Elite laserdisc was at 1.66:1? I thought the BU disc looked a little cropped on the top but only felt it distracting in a couple of minor instances; the picture upgrade is marvelous (the LD was a good transfer, reportedly better than AB's DVD release around the same time.).

I've still got the old AB DVD at 1:66 to 1, and haven't yet compared it to the new BU version, which I picked up last week. I'd imagine the cropping won't be too extreme; but I may end up keeping both if it bugs me. Hopefully not as much of a problem as say, HORROR OF DRACULA.
