I have been watching Katia Lund and Fernando Meirelles' City Of Men TV Series on BBC4 over the last few weeks.

From episode 5, there seems to be a significant shift in the characters (and actors) ages. They go from being pubescent boys playing football, to being obsessed with dancing and/or girls. They look a year or so older too, and have longer hair, appear taller etc.

I can only assume there was a gap in production, or the episodes are from different seasons. Can anyone confirm/deny/explain this?
