Am I the only person upset that Universal's new "Flashback Edition" of DAZED AND CONFUSED is as far as you can get from Special? 9 deleted scenes (of dozens, apparently) and retro extras like PSR's do nothing to commemorate the film's 10th year anniversary.
So what happened to the Richard Linklater commentary? Documentary interviewing all the cast and crew? The well-reported 10th Anniversary Reunion which was filmed over the space of two days with every major cast member attending except Ben Affleck?! The incredible amount of deleted footage, outtakes, bloopers, etc.? Will this film EVER get a super-deluxe special edition? I keep hoping and praying that Criterion could tackle this one like they did for SLACKER...
Casey:
This was discussed on the hometheaterforum, and Richard Linklater isn't happy about it, either. Check the link below, and you'll find Richard's e-mail to Wiley Wiggins a few posts down the page. Hopefully, Linklater will be able to convince Universal to let Criterion do a proper special edition, but I dunno how they'll react to his badmouthing them, justified as he may be. Let's hope...

This was my most-looked-forward to disc of the year (except possibly for the Live Aid DVD), and I'm really disappointed. I'm about a big a fan of DAZED as you can get, so I'll probably double-dip just for the stupid "9 deleted scenes" and then kick myself afterward.
:(
Blast!
I bought the fullscreen by mistake (punctuate each word with head banging on desktop)!
Any chance this is open-frame and not p&s?
