Title: SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY inquiry

Does anyone have a clue what happened to the newer Image DVD of Jess Franco's SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY? I orginally had it ordered along with their recent release of VAMPYROS LESBOS -- VL arrived in a timely fashion, but my order for SKIE was inexplicably cancelled and now the title is no longer listed at the site (DDD).
Furthermore, I haven't seen any online reviews of this new disk. Did it get released and I just missed it somehow, or is something holding this title up?

Well, I got mine early last week, so I don't think it's cancelled (got mine from a buddy at Image). I know there was a replication snafu or something that caused a delay, but there is no reason for it to be cancelled.

Don, have you noticed any cropping issues with She Killed in Ecstasy similar to those that were found on Images Vampyro Lesbos release?

To be honest, I haven't even watched it yet... nor have I even opened it to even take a small peek.

SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY was to be released on the same day as VAMPYRES LESBOS but became delayed until last Tuesday 10/26/04.
I purchase VAMPYRES... two weeks ago and ECSTASY last Tuesday. Both are anamorphic where as the original versions were not.

HOWEVER...VAMPYROS LESBOS' new Image disc, like its previous Second Sight incarnation, has one scene that seems zoomed in or something...when Ewa Stroemberg walks onto the terrace in her new dress to greet Soledad Miranda after skinnydipping. The Synapse disc has the shot much wider, with both women in-shot.

There are several scenes which contain zoomed-in/cropped shots, including a few close ups of Soledad Miranda, and the some of the swimming sequence itself is zoomed, cropping off some nudity in the shots showing women are lying on the beach. It has been speculated that this cropping was done to hide print damage on the element. Another problem, at least for me, is that the evocative quote from the poet Heinrich Heine, visible at the beginning of the German print, is missing from this print, which has French credits [VAMPIROS LESBOS rather than VAMPYROS LESBOS] but features a German language track. The color and definition, though, are quite an improvement over the Synapse release. It's a decent upgrade.
