What the hell is that weird whistling noise for?

I should still have - packed away - the Big Box VHS that I think I picked up in a 42nd Street video store the first time I was in NYC...prior to that I'd only seen the cut UK release. I never much cared for CAFE FLESH, which became a minor cult film, but I loved the lesser known, more surreal, NIGHTDREAMS. Someone mentions that there's a DVD, but I'm guessing this is not an official remastered release?

Didn't the UK poster/cover have a giant eyeball looking down on a girl on a bed?

Yes, same director as CAFE FLESH (Rinse Dream) and cut largely from the same cloth. Been a while since I saw this but I think the framing story had to do with psychiatrists studying a woman who had lost her libido. They were trying to cure her by inducing erotic dreams. Has anyone here seen Rinse Dream's CALIGARI?

Oh yeah, never seen either of the others, but I liked CALIGARI when I saw it on videotape back in the 90's - bizarre and very arch, but fun. The giant tongue/fellatio scene sticks in my mind - kind of like new-wave/porn doing Cronenberg.
