One of the most familiar faces in European cinema, Spanish actor Victor Israel passed away yesterday at 80.
Horrible Babelfish translation of announcement
Very memorable in Mattei's HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD/NIGHT OF THE ZOMBIES.
If he was on your radar, Vic Israel was memorable in just about everything he did, whether he was on screen for 5 seconds (he does a little better than that in HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD... but not much) or 15 minutes. I always wondered what happened to the dummy of the dead Vic in HORROR EXPRESS. I'd love to have that prop - not for ironic yucks but because I truly loved the guy - to put in my passenger seat as I drive around Hollywood. Probably the only way Vic would have gotten to see it.
