Can't resist a mini-plug for the film festival I've been working with off and on for the past seven months. AFI FEST starts next Thursday, November 4. Here's the Asian films, most of which will be familiar to readers of this board.

Friday, November 5
9:45 pm ONG BAK: THAI WARRIOR (with special performance by Tony Jaa and stunt team)

Saturday, November 6
8:00 pm HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS (Gala Presentation, which means tickets are more expensive and probably all gone by now)

Sunday, November 7
2:00 pm ONG BAK: THAI WARRIOR (encore; just the movie)
9:30 pm RAHTREE: FLOWER OF THE NIGHT (Thai horror/comedy from the director of KILLER TATTOO) *

Monday, November 8
7:00 pm BRIDE AND PREJUDICE: THE BOLLYWOOD MUSICAL *

Tuesday, November 9
4:00 pm RAHTREE: FLOWER OF THE NIGHT *

Thursday, November 11
3:00 pm BRIDE AND PREJUDICE: THE BOLLYWOOD MUSICAL
7:00 pm KOMA (Hong Kong thriller from the director of INNER SENSES) *

Friday, November 12
7:00 pm KOMA *

Saturday, November 13
4:45 pm INFERNAL AFFAIRS *
7:00 pm INFERNAL AFFAIRS II *
9:30 pm INFERNAL AFFAIRS III *

Sunday, November 14
1:30 pm INFERNAL AFFAIRS
4:00 pm INFERNAL AFFAIRS II
7:00 pm INFERNAL AFFAIRS III

* Director scheduled to attend and participate in post-screening Q&A. Andrew Lau will be coming for the IA trilogy, but not Alan Mak.
