Title: BRONX EXECUTIONER

Lefteris Tsoutsos - January 22, 2005 04:34 AM (GMT)
I was just taking a look through imdb and noticed that BRONX EXECUTIONER (that was innacurately credited to Umberto Lenzi until a few years ago) is out on DVD since 2003! However, the director's (Vanio Amici- an editor who switched to directing actually) pseudonymn was also used by Lenzi.

Does anybody know more on that release? I bet it's fullscreen, although amazon mentions nothing about aspect ratio. The cover artwork stinks too.

As for the film itself, I am sure that nobody likes it but I thought it was somehow enjoyable when I watched it a few years back.

It's full-screen, as you surmised. A very low-budget release, probably mastered from a videocassette. I got mine copy from a "three DVDs for $10" bin at Walgreen's. Well worth it, though.

Looks like you can pick it up as part of a 4-movie set from Brentwood called "Future Cops"....

The other titles are:-
Hands os Steel - dir. Sergio Martino with George Eastman & John Saxon
Assassin - dir. Sandor Stern
Warriors of the Wasteland - dir. Enzo Catsellari with George Eastman & Fred Williamson

It retails for about US$5-6, so I guess the transfers will be direct ports from VHS or summat....

So this means that I'll stick to my old Greek vhs of the movie- it's cover artwork is way better than the one in the disc which totally stinks.

Any thoughts on the film itself? It's probably the last Italian post-apocalypse ever made.

I would say, whether is not an excellent film, still it catches that gloomy feeling of the pst apocalypse films of that time.
Vanio Amici, seems to be in a very low budget and his artistic views are limited, but he tries his best, and so the actors.
The greek cover artwork is excellent work too,a classic example of video art expression.
