For over ten years, I've heard about the proposed re-make, re-imagining, or re-vision of Logan's Run, and to this day, I still think it is not such a good idea. Like I mentioned before, with the current trend of remakes that have been shown on the cinema screen as of late, and all of them bombing at the box office, I still don't think a remake of the classic 1976 movie should be made. Granted that both Bryan Singer and Dan Harris have said that it would be based more on the book, with some elements of the movie thrown in. However, it just doesn't seem like a box-office success in the making. I could be wrong in that assessment. However, when I think of the possibility of a remake, I think of the disasterous remakes that have been produced. Particularly the Sci-Fi Channel's awful "un-imagining" of Battlestar Galactica(years after the awful Galactica 1980, which did hurt the original Battlestar, unfortunately). That also includes the Logan's Run television series that was also a disaster and ratings bomb. Hollywood and the rest of the film industry needs to bring some original ideas and fresh material to the Cinema mainstream. Remakes and re-imaginings do make good entertainment. They ruin good entertainment and from what I can tell, the original source material.
Correction, that last line was meant to say remakes and re-imaginings do NOT make good entertainment. Sorry about that misprint there.
