I haven't seen this episode in years, so I decided to check it out again last night and thought I'd post a short overview of it here, following in robstanley's footprints - hopefully we'll get some more of those UK reviews in here soon again! :)
“Night Visitors”
This was a fun and semi-creepy episode. It’s Logan’s Run meets Dark Shadows, with a little touch of Night Gallery thrown in for flavor. It also features the series’ first real romantic moment between Logan and Jessica, if only cut way too short!
Using up all of the Solar energy from their Hovercraft during a heavy thunderstorm, Logan, REM and Jessica find themselves stranded outside a large house in the country. The trio make their way into the house, calling out to see if anyone’s home. They are soon greeted by a man and a woman who offer the three food and shelter for the night. REM offers a nice humorous line as to the reason he won’t eat to his hosts. :D The man and woman suddenly reveal that they are actually expecting yet another visitor this night, who eventually does show up soon in the episode. That visitor is the mysterious Gavin.
Gavin soon takes an interest in Jessica. While the two of them chat amongst themselves, she brings him up to speed on the trio’s recent escape from the City of Domes and the concept of renewal. It is Jessica’s discussion of renewal that very much interests Gavin, and marks her a target for his mysterious plans.
After REM witnesses some bizarre phenomena in the house, and Logan tells him of a strange vision he saw in a free-standing mirror in his room, REM searches his databanks from the time period of this 19th Century house and confides in Logan that the house may actually be haunted and that their three hosts may indeed be ghosts!
Without further spoiling, the three encounter some more spookiness within the house and find that the answers to all of their questions lie deep below it’s surface.
This would’ve been perfect for a Halloween airing, but unfortunately, it was one of the three episodes that never aired here in the states during it’s initial run. Just for the record, the other unaired shows were Turnabout and Stargate.
If you love books that move by themselves, mysterious keys that open large, thick doors and ghostly apparitions that can move through walls and floors, then this is the episode for you!!
Happy Haunting!!

Hi Steve,
A quick correction...
The last three episodes of Logan's Run did air in certain parts of the US. Some CBS affiliates decided not to broadcast them in their particular areas - probably because the show was doing poorly in those particular markets.
"Night Vistors" originally aired on CBS television on January 23, 1978
"Turnabout" aired on January 30, 1978
and
"Stargate" aired on February 6, 1978
Nice review, Steve. Thanks for posting it!

It figures! My area must have been one of those 'poor market' areas
Happy Halloween!

I did'nt realize it had aired. I though it had been totally cancelled and never seen by the public. It's good to know that it was aired in at least part of the country. I agree it would have been an ideal Halloween episode. But I gotta be honest, I thought it started out really well, it was really creepy and all, but I think it kinda fell apart at the end, not one of my favorite episodes. B)
