Can anyone tell me how Farrah Fawcett's character, (Holly) dies in the Logan's run movie?

Spoiler Alert
When Logan calls the Sandmen underground to help him destory what he thinks is Sanctuary, Holly is standing a little too close to the wall that's blown up!
Bye, bye Holly
End of Spoiler

Farrah Fawcett's character was killed during the scene where Logan and Jessica come upon the hidden underground of runners who help others find Sanctuary. When Logan activated his tracker, he notified his fellow Sandmen of his location. After that, the Sandmen blasted their way into the underground chamber and opened fire on the runners. Farrah's character wa scaught in the crossfire of both explosion and I would assume fire from the homers or rippers that were discharged from the Sandman blasters. It was not a pretty sight and a bit of a shock.

Thought I posted something similar - only mine was Spoiler-free. :P

Sorry about that. I should have remembered that spoiler-free part of the message. LOL! :D I'm still learning a few things about PCs' and the internet in general.
On the subject of Holly, I'm still surprised that Farrah Fawcett's appearance was only a short and small one. It was definately near cameo-status. You would think that a superstar like her from the hedonistic '70's would have a had a bigger role in a motion picture. It's definately something that many fans of hers and the film have wondered about.

Hi Francis,
"Logan's Run" was filmed in the Dallas/Ft Worth area in 1975. During that time, Farrah was still pretty much an unknown actress - not yet Superstar caliber. She wouldn't rise to her Superstar status until the following year (1976) with the release of her famous Swimsuit poster, her role as Holly in "Logan's Run" and her sexy television role as 'Jill Monroe' on "Charlie's Angels". Michael York (during his DVD commentary) actually credits himself with 'discovering' Farrah while playing tennis. He states on the "Logan's Run" DVD that it was he who suggested that this beautiful unknown actress be given the part of Holly in the film!!
"Logan's Run" was one of Farrah's first WIDELY seen film appearances and it would be forever remembered to many as the film that gave us our first sneak peek at this beautiful future supermodel!!

btw.... Farrah is a native Texan. She was born in Corpus Christi in 1947 (Feb 2).

I didn't know that Charlie's Angels premiered the same year as Logan's Run did. I originally had assumed that it premiered a year before Logan's Run was released in theaters. I need to bone up on my T.V. Trivia. LOL!
Incidentally, Michael York also mentioned his discovering of Farrah in his autobiography "Traveling Man - Accidentally On Purpose." I always got a kick out of how he said that he took credit for her beginning and future career.
Were there ever any interviews with Farrah, regarding her role in the film and what it was like working on it? I'm a bit curious to know how she thought of the film and if she enjoyed working in it.

With over 1,408 views in this thread (making this our most viewed thread to date) - I'm bumpin' this up to the head of the pack!
The magic that is Farrah!
:bump:
Just a refresher for everyone, she was actually credited in this film as Farrah Fawcett-Majors, as she was still married to the Six Million Dollar Man (Lee Majors) at that time.

Many reviewers (not to mention Bill Nolan) found Farrah's performance weak, but I thought she was perfect as Holly. In a way, her sexy, smiling, fun-loving vacuousness was the perfect personification of the City and its people. And she did show some range in her final scene at Runner HQ (though perhaps she played that one a bit too "dumb").
I liked her. She's no Jenny Agutter -- thank God FARRAH wasn't cast as Jessica! -- but then again, who is?

Paulx -
I always got a kick out of that scene - when Holly shows up at the Runner Underground and Jessica has to remind her of what actually transpired.

"oh, that's right.... you're running...."
She must've gotten too close to one of those Aescapulator Mark III's laser beams that caused her temporary memory loss. :)

Now, in the book "Logan's Run" --- Holly meets an entirely new way to expire.......... :tape:
read it - to find out how............

I myself liked the performance of Farrah Fawcett, I thought she did a really excellent job especially considering she was'nt really an actress, more a model....once again I think its time to push my choice for the new Holly, even though I know you don't agree...here she is... no intro nessissary... :D

I’m no fan of Paris Hilton, but I do agree that she would be a good choice for the role of Holly.
----
I think Farrah is
perfect in scenes within the New You, but she makes me cringe in the Runner Underground scene. Part of the problem is that I just don’t believe her character, Holly, is really part of the “underground” movement. I mean look at her! Look where she works. She’s too narcissistic to ever get involved in politics and start hanging out in the city sewers. And she is too much of an air-head always day dreaming about dark hair, to ever realize that Doc sometimes closes up the shop early because he is running off to secret “underground” meetings. Let’s face it, she’s been working there for years and never once has it dawned on her why so much of Doc’s clientele are on Last Day.
So here is my solution: :D
Instead of having Holly show up in the Runner Underground, it should have been… the 2nd Sanctuary Man.

That’s right, our old buddy carrying around the necklace-garrote with Logan’s name on it. You see, he was headed towards the New You to find Logan, when Francis came bursting out asking if anyone had seen a Sandman and his Green running by. Once Francis took off into the Love Shop, the 2nd Sanctuary Man went on into the New You and found Holly sobbing because she had broken a nail, and that Doc was dead. He then heads off to the Runner Underground headquarters to report on his findings and woah…Logan and Jessica are already there!
After all, what else could have happened to those two Sanctuary guys that were following Logan anyway?

Granted that Paris Hilton is beautiful, but, I honestly don't think she could pull it off as Holly in a Newer version of the film. Then again, Warner Brothers should not even be trying to do a remake. I know many have heard me say this before, but I don't think that a remake is such a brilliant idea. Even though I am keeping an open mind, it still disturbs me that this remake could become something of a "laughing-stock" like Burton's take on Planet Of the Apes and that god awful remake of Rollerball. :guns:

When the movie was originally released, there was no mention of Farrah although she was recognized at that point because she had just gotten really big. The funny part was after it was re released again either in the theaters of on VHS (hey it was a long time ago) the advertisments of the time would state that it starred Farrah Fawcet which of course was a joke since she had maybe 3 minutes on screen
