I remember the scene where Jessica visits Logan at his apartment, but I can't find any place in the movie where the building is shown from the outside. Does anyone know if the building exterior was ever shown in the movie? This building (along with many others in the film) are in my hometown of Dallas. Here's a shot of the building from inside:

Thanks.

He he he...can't be of much assitance on this one..The closest I've ever been to Dallas is New Orleans, I have family there. It looks like a number of buildings in the Toronto suburbs were I live...It may say at the very end of the credits on the DVD. ... ;)

Greetings Logan Five - welcome to the boards!

I don't believe that the actual exterior of those apartments were ever used in the film, only the interior shots.

I believe they used a futuristic looking 'model' of the apartments for any exterior shots for the film, and not the actual exterior image of the real building (unlike what they did for Sandman Headquarters).

These particular buildings are now known as the "Park Stemmons" buildings in Dallas, TX. They're located at 8700 Stemmons Freeway in Dallas, near the Brook Hollow Golf Course.

Here's the map, if anyone cares to visit.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I live in Dallas and have seen the following places that were used in the movie:

-The Park Stemmons building (from the outside only)
-Dallas Market Hall (from the outside only), which was used for the City of Domes
-Fort Worth Water Gardens, which was the hydrogalvanic system used at the end of the movie (very cool place!)
-The Zales building (now owned by Mobil Oil), which was used as the Sandman Headquarters
-The Oz Nightclub (the name has changed numerous times since the movie, it's now known as Rocafello's), which was used for the Love Shop scenes.

Yes, I know that I'm a bonafide Logan's Run nerd for tracking these places down. :D

Another scene filmed at Park Stemmons that didn't make it into the final edit of the film:

94X5  WITH LOGAN AND JESSICA

Walking along a handsomely landscaped stream. Laughing together,
stopping to admire the beautiful fish (koi).

      JESSICA
   What're you going to do?

      LOGAN
   That's tomorrow.

      JESSICA
     (turning away slightly)
I wish I could help you.

      LOGAN
     (turning her gently back)
   Maybe you'll think of something...

      JESSICA
     (hating herself)
I wish I knew what you think I know.

Logan smiles at her, both knowing what's false, but drawn to each
other anyhow. They commence walking again.

94X6  ANOTHER ANGLE

The followers, ahead now, watching, trying to make up their minds as
to whether Jessica is bringing Logan to the ambush. As they argue,
Logan and Jessica approach.

94X7  WITH LOGAN AND JESSICA

      LOGAN
If you did know, you'd tell me.

      JESSICA
   Of course--

      LOGAN (overriding)
If you trusted me, you'd know.

      JESSICA (evading it)
   We're coming to Arcade.
     (beat) -
   Shall we Relive together?

Although we have never seen this footage, we do have one picture that was taken during the filming of the above dialogue on the ground floor in the Park Stemmons building:

The shooting schedule for July 3rd, 1975 (as seen here), printed only two weeks before the actual filming, lists both the scene with Jessica knocking on Logan's door as well as the scene quoted above, to be filmed at the RCA Building. Was Park Stemmons ever known as the RCA Building? If not, then the change from RCA to Park Stemmons was a late one.

I've never been to Dallas, I would love to see what the inside of the Dallas Shopping center looks like today. If anyone gets a chance I think it would be really cool to see some pics of the various areas in which the film was shot. Im sure by now its gone through some changes.... :)

From what I understand, most of that building is not open to the general public. But if I ever get the chance to sneak in, I will definitely snap some photos.

I know that they showed the interior of the building during the scene where Jessica goes to Logan's apartment, and not the exterior. Too bad they did not show the exterior of the building complex. I think it would have looked right at home in the film.

New stuff I learned about Park Stemmons:
1. The building was known as the "RCA Building" during the filming of LR. Presumably because RCA had leased a large amount of office space there.
2. A quick scene was filmed on the rooftop at Park Stemmons. This quick exterior shot was of the runner who trys to evade Francis in the original opening to the film. Basically the runner is seen on the rooftop just before descending via elevator (the elevators were a cut away to footage filmed in the Houston Hyatt). Does anyone have a picture from this rooftop scene? It would be great to at least see a still shot of how it looked.

If you visit Park Stemmons here is the quickest way to see the LR points of interest:
Enter through the main lobby in the center of the building. Turn to your right and walk into the atrium on the south side. The very first catwalk on the second story is the one were Jenny posed for the pic seen in one of the messages above (thanks to Rob Yancey for sharing that rare pic with the community, and to Richard Hallock for hosting it).
Logan's apartment door was on your right hand side where the catwalk met the office space on the second story.
Now walk to approximately the second to last concrete bench area in the middle of the atrium and turn around to face back towards the lobby. You are now facing the same direction as the camera when it captured Michael and Jenny in the deleted scene of them walking along the landscaped stream. Here is how it looked then, and today:

Another great picture, nems12! Looks like you've been very busy this week in Dallas. Sounds like your having a blast!

Did you have any trouble getting into the Parks Stemmons building to look around?

No problem getting in. Just show up during business hours, dress business casual and no one will look at you twice.

Be aware that the catwalk that Jenny posed upon is only accessible by the business that leases out the second floor. At the moment that part of the second floor is unoccupied and locked.

More pics at the City of Domes siteshow how the 2nd floor has been modified since the time of the filming. However the balconies and catwalks on the 3rd and 4th floors remain easily accessible.
