Title: More bad news
Steve - May 9, 2005 08:45 PM (GMT)
If this news article holds true, the Logan's Run remake will never get made as long as Singer is tied to the project.
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050506f.phpJust listen to this statement in the article:
"Plans are to shoot (the Gay Mayor) film after Singer completes "Superman Returns" which is filming through til September in Sydney."
WHAT!!????? I thought Logan's Run was next!!!!!!!
And just how many projects does this guy have going on now????
Superman Returns
The Gay Mayor movie
The Internet Murder for Hire movie
X-Men 3???
At this rate, LR will never get made - especially if Singer stilll controls it!!
It'll be amazing if production work ever gets started on Logan's Run. What pisses me off most of all is that because of these constant delays and bumps, the damn TV Series will never get released either!! They'll never release the TV Series commercially without the remake to help sales
Hey Warner Brothers - eff ewe!!!!!!!

Along similar lines this is making me mad...
Rumor has it that Warner has a two disc DVD special edition of the 1976 film ready to go, but it is not to be relased until the remake is ready. Ugh! My patience is wearing thin.

Movie "Politics" suck!!!! The good storylines get pushed back in favor of the quick, big money flicks for the studios! And then, they can't understand why people stopped going to the movies???? Mind Mush......instead of Good scripts!!!!!

Bryan Singer *is* currently working on Superman Returns, he is doing that right now. He is NOT doing X-Men 3; as he was fired by Fox last spring to do Logan's Run for Warner's. As of last fall, Logan's Run *is* suppossed to be next, right after Superman Returns. I for one have not heard of the Gay Mayor or Internet Movie; so I would treat those as strickly rumors until Superman Returns wraps production. Time will tell, we have a good 6 months if not a year.
The Running Man - June 19, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
OK...I like Brian Singers work just as much as the next guy, but if he thinks he can continue to put this project on hold then perhaps he's not the right person for the job. The are plenty of fine director out there that couild also do an excellent job on a movie like this, and perhaps they would appreciate it more...to name just a few...
Alex Proyas............Dark City.
Peter Jackson ........Lord of the Rings.
Terry Gilliam..........12 Monkeys.
James Cameron......Terminator.
Thomas Lee............Super Nova.
Steven Soderberg...Solaris.
Just a suggestion...

That IS good news! I was begining to suspect that the Logan's Run remake might be a dead project, but this sounds promising.
Steve - July 19, 2005 01:06 PM (GMT)
That is great news! I can't wait until Superman is done and out in the theaters! Then he can fully concentrate on his Logan picture!
Steve the Dude - July 21, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
Yes, it's at least another year, but I think it will be worth the wait.

What's the deal with this 2 disc edition? Wouldn't it be beneficial to release it BEFORE the remake and maybe generate some new interest? JMHO

That seems logical to me, but is not how movie studios typically handle it. For example, Spielberg’s remake of War of the Worlds comes out on DVD this November. To coincide with that release, a 2-disc special edition DVD of the original 1953 version of the film is also finally coming out. This special edition of the original film has been ready for some time, but was delayed until the new film hits the DVD market.
Along similar lines is the situation with King Kong. The original 1933 film will finally be released on DVD when the new 2005 remake is released in theaters later this year.

Here's hoping that the two-disc special edition will be excellent. I'm curious to know what extra stuff they will be adding to this disc. Maybe we'll get lucky and that lost footage will be put back in. Assuming if that footage is still in existence.
