Title: Sanctuary-did they find it?

When I saw the movie I always felt that they DID find Sanctuary. It was the freedom of the outside world - far from the computer run City.

I know Logan said," There is noo sanctuary", but I always felt he didn't really know what santuary meant.

Any thoughts? :)

In movie terms, I don't think they ever found Sanctuary (in the real sense). I had always agreed with Logan's point of view that a 'real' Sanctuary didn't exist.

I was always of the mindset that Sanctuary is more of a 'belief' or an 'idea' rather than a real place (regarding the movie version of Logan's Run).

In the book; however - as I know you know MaryMary5 - Sanctuary is a real place (although I won't spoil it here if there are any LR book newbies around).

I think I like the LR TV version of Sanctuary - that it can be a real place - it's just what you personally view as your own Sanctuary (as briefly explained by Matthew12 in my personal favorite episode "The Judas Goat"). I think Sanctuary means something different to other people. And when they do indeed find it, it'll be there OWN personal Sanctuary.

Never found it in the movie as it does not exist. Logan figures this one out while Jessica has a tough time. There really isn't much Outside. That's a flaw of the movie, one of many.

The book, that's another story, as Sanctuary does indeed exist.

As far as tv series ... it died to soon to tell.

I don't think its that important that Sanctuary does'nt exist as a physical place. Rather the idea of a place free of prosecution, were people can live and grow old is what I believe it most important. I believe the movie conveys this message very well. Logan and Jessica did in fact reach Sanctuary, it just was'nt what what they had envisioned. ...and as a side note Logan's Run has NO flaws. It is one of only a handful of films in the entire history of Cinima that I consider to be absolutly perfect.
