Title: Which Episode is this from?

Hi from a new member.

I'm Rob, and first watched LR in the UK when I was seven.

I only really have explicit memories of one episode (as I think I tape-recorded the soundtrack at the time), but can't for the life of me find any refence to it on any of the LR sites.

The pre-titles episode preview began with a clip of Rem, saying something along the lines of, "I broke the first law - I took a human life!" - the implication being that Rem would have to be deactivated as a result of his killing someone.

Does anyone here know which episode this was from?

Thanks!

Rob

Hi Rob.

Greetings from the Domes.

The episode you're remembering is "The Judas Goat" - this one is one of my personal favorites.

This is the epiosde where Hal14 (a runner) is gunned down in the first minute of the episode. His body is then taken to Doc by a Sandman to have Hal14's face transferrd to the Sandman's. The Sandman (now looking like Hal14) is sent out of the city to find Logan and Jessica and tries to convince them to return to the city and stage a rebellion there - except that it's all an elaborate trap for Logan and Jessica, schemed by the Coucil of Elders who are secretly running the city.

Wow - what a plot!!! :D

Anyway - REM does inadvertantly (sp) kill someone in this episode, hence the line "I broke the first law - I took a human life!"

For the entire "The Judas Goat" episode rundown, you may want to check out this link:

It's from Virtual Vikkis' awesome "The City of Domes" website. 'Vikki's' got all of the TV episodes summarized there and it's an excellent resource for those trying to recall of the fun that was the "Logan's Run" TV Series, since they're not available 'legally' anywhere to own!

Can't wait until Warner Brothers finally releases this series on DVD (or HD-DVD - considering how long we've waited so far!!) ;)

Wow - thanks for that; it's all come flooding back now!

Yes, from what I can recall (it's been a long time since I was seven!!), this episode was superb - I particularly remember our heros being 'hermetically sealed' into their car, the spider-like equipment that transforms the sandman into the runner, and the 'Joy' reference.

I'm not up to speed on the situation with Time Warner at all - how does the land currently lie with them releasing the series onto DVD?

Have they responded to any enquiries regarding a release?

I know there are copies floating around on various file-sharing networks, but I'd really love to be able to see this great series properly again some day soon!

For now, all I can say regarding the Logan's Run Television Series on DVD is that hopefully, the powers that be will release them OFFICIALLY sometime before the remake hits theaters. Alot of our emails to them go unanswered. I'll have to try them again soon. Twentieth Century Fox released the Planet of the Apes DVD Box Set when that remake came out and it sold pretty well. Hopefully, Time/Warner will do the same for us!! Until I hear something different, sadly that's all we've got to go on right now.

Virtual Vikki is spearheading the Online Petition to get the series released on DVD. If you haven't signed the Petition yet, please do. It may or may not help, but it certainly can't hurt!

So please - Sign away!!!!!
