Hi Alexis,

Yes - this was an old rumor back last summer - when it was announced that Bryan Singer was going to do the new "Superman Returns" movie instead of the "Logan's Run" remake.

The truth of the matter is that Bryan Singer has publically stated that he IS STILL planning on directing "Logan's Run" when he finishes up with "Superman". He has already started on Pre-production work and completed the first very rough draft of the story.

Also - Francis Lawrence has denied those rumored reports, too.

Here's an interview that he did last July where he was asked, point-blank, of the Logan's Run directing rumors.

(although he does answer the question at the end of the interview with a DOUBLE NEGATIVE....... hmmmmmmmmmmmm) <_<

I still think a remake is a bad idea. It's only going to ruin the original and what it stands for. There should be a ban on remakes, period. I mean, literally a ban on remaking classic films. There is such a thing as preserving and protecting artistic quality in films.

Well i don't think it's a complete stupid idea but i have mixed feelings about it too. in many recent films it seems that the producers think that story can be replaced by special effects. Thats my big fear about this remake - more special effects - less storytelling.

And i think the actors of the old film where great - so it can only get worse.

On the other hand - I never liked the end of the film so I have some hope that at least this may get better. The victory over the computer was way to easy and it had no drawback. Imagine - thousends of people who never needed to work - never had to care about food, shelter or healthcare - are suddenly on their own in the wilderness. How many of them can actually survive the next winter ? I think here they could had made more of it .... ( either send them in the cold or let logan think about if it's really a good idea to destroy the computer ... )
