Title: Our NEW Logan's Run Circuit BBS
Description: Intro to new BBS
Logan5 - December 11, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
Welcome everyone to our ALL NEW Logan's Run Circuit BBS!
Please feel free to dive right in and try out our new BBS Service, as provided by InvisionFree.com.
This new BBS Service offers so much more than what our previous Bravenet service did! We can now set up immediate polls on certian threads, better organize topics for a much easier forum navigation, edit our own posts and lots more! I hope you all like the change.
Before posting, please read our very brief "Forum Guidelines" located in the upper left hand corner of this site (under the Invision Logo).
Also - I will be keeping up our old Forums for reference for the next couple months. But please DO NOT post there any more, as I removed that link from my "World of Logans Run" site. The link now points to this new BBS site.
Our Old BBS Link:
http://pub50.bravenet.com/forum/show.php?u...212033323&cpv=1Our old BBS will be taken down soon, so last call..............
As always, please let me know what you think and will talk to everyone soon again!
Keeping Logan running......
John

Hey Logan5,
This board looks like it'll be a great addition to the ever growing Logan web community!
It's nice to see that your bulletin boards continue to be upgraded with newer features. It'd be nice for you to transfer the messages from your old board onto this new board before you delete them all. Is that possible?
I'll come back and explore a bit more later, when I have more free time.
Looks great so far!
Steve

Hi Steve,
Welcome to the new "World of Logan's Run" boards.
I think the only way I'd ever be able to transfer all of the previous boards messages is if I do it all by hand myself, and I don't think that that would be too practical. I mean it can be done, but what I'll probably end up doing is just to wait and see if the same type of Logan questions and topics reappear here (like Blaster questions, where can I get a Sandman outfit, when is the DVD of the TV Series coming out, etc. etc.).
I would like to keep the Logan's Run remake Casting ideas thread going. That's always interesting, reading people's ideas of who to cast in the new movie.
Give the new boards some time - I think we'll get some new and interesting Logan topics that haven't been discussed on our older boards soon. Especially when the new Logan movie approaches.
Thanks for the post Steve and hope to talk to you again soon!
John

btw.... I really like that I can now edit my posts with this new board - I usually end up going back to them three times after I hit submit to correct my spelling errors!!! LOL

Hi Alexis,

Hope you have a great Holiday across the sea and "Happy New Year"!

Hi,
New member, almost twenty years past mandatory Last Day. Found this site after searching on "Logan's Run." With the ice storm that just struck, I've been snowed in (northern KY) and have been rereading my battered paperback copies of the three LOGAN novels. Honestly, I am more of a fan of the books, but I do very much like the film, and have since it came out.
Hope to find and start some intersting discussions.
Sir Rhosis (Dave)

Welcome Sir Rhosis --
Glad to hear you escaped Carrousel!
Welcome to Sanctuary. Enjoy your stay and watch out for those troublesome DS patrols.

Many thanks. I used to joke with a fellow fan, back in January 1994, when I turned thirty that I had to go to the mall in Knoxville, TN, where I lived, to undergo Carrousel. Luckily, I renewed.
As I lived very near the University of Tennessee campus, sometimes if I saw a student running to get to class, I'd yell, "RUNNER!" Most people would chuckle as they got the reference.
FWIW, if some posters don't know it, there is no Carousel in the original novel. When you hit "Last Day," at age 21, you simply turned yourself into a "Sleep Shop" like a good little sheep.
Best,
Sir Rhosis

Logan5,
Have you considered setting up the titles under our usernames (Newbie, etc.) to correspond to the age ranges in the movie. I notice a little red square there as well. Perhaps make them the colors of the crystals, i. e.your first ten posts corresponds to the crystal color and status for ages 1-10. I forget the colors (in fact, iirc, the movie screws up several times in this regard). Have the title read "Nursery" or something.
Your second ten posts would be a "Cub"
Posts 20-29 would be an "Adult."
30 posts and more would be a RUNNER!"
Just a silly thought.
:D
Sir Rhosis
EDIT: Never mind, I figured out how to change my own title.
Steve - January 3, 2005 04:10 PM (GMT)
Yeah -
When do I become something other than a 'Newbie'. It makes me seem so.... new.

You probably won't believe this Sir Rhosis, but that's almost how I set up up my Ranking system.
The first magic 'number' to reach is 7 posts and you become a 'Yellow Citizen'. It then increases from there. Since you entered your own Title, it won't show up for you. If you want, I can try and reset your title to reflect the 'ranks' I have designated here. I'm not sure if your custom title will change when you reach the next level.
Sir Rhosis - January 4, 2005 01:32 AM (GMT)
^^^Yes, go ahead and reset it.
:)

Hey Sir Rhosis,
Last night, I incorporated a few more of your neat ideas into our ranking system. Everyone now gets a colored crystal that reflects how 'old' they are by the number of posts they've submitted so far (basing it on what the movie says - even though they don't get it right all the time). Let me know what you think.
I'm not gonna spoil what happens after 30 posts. You'll just have to wait and see. As more and more people find our boards and continue posting, the boards will grow into a nice little Logan fan community. :)
Post away!

Okay - - I have a question. Why does Logan activate his Sandman dealie when he's in the underground lair? All the other Sandmen came and killed em all. Why would he want that? I don't get it...
rknight - January 30, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
i assume you refer to the original movie?.....well, he activates it because he believes he has completed the mission given to him by the computer..... he believes he has found " sancturary" .....and is completing his mission to destroy it...

Definately a wonderful idea, concerning the system that Sir Rhosis suggested. By the way, I like the look of the message board. It's pretty cool. If not sharp and clear as crystal(no pun intended). Keep up the good work.
