Title: Reproduction in the domes

A few things here.
When Logan sees a group of pretty women in Carousel, and mentions that a few of them could be Logan6's mother, Francis says "Only a few, you're not trying hard enough."
It shows that Logan does not know who the mother is, yet sex is still involved in the process. Since laws of nature couldn't have changed, it would seem that the mother would have to be known, as the fertilized embryo would have to be removed from her. It is more likely that if she was on the circuit, she would be the one not to know who the birth father is.
What is everyone's opinion on this?

Since we never see pregnant women or women with babies in the city,I would assume that once the woman discovered she was pregnant, the child would probably be removed from her and raised in "Nursery". I always thought that was why they never knew who the actual parents were.

I think of it interms of a Jerry Springer episode. Everyone was having sex with everyone else, so neither the biological father or mother would know for sure, unless DNA was checked. I really don't think they cared about that, so no one would know.

It seemed to me that everyone just didn't care to find out who their parents were because the age limit of 30 made it redundant. And also they really didn't want to bother with those details.

I always thought that pregnancies were controlled by the computer - in that all the children of the Domes are actually 'test tube' kids. I never thought that the women were able to freely select when and if they would become pregant. It was all controlled by the computers.
At a certain age, a woman would have her eggs removed and stored away for a short time by the computer. This would then render the woman 'infertile' so she can have sex with anyone without be able to conceive a child freely by herself. A man would be chosen to fertilize the selected egg and then it would be placed into a different suitable female citizen to carry. Once she begins to 'show' her pregnancy, she would be sent to a special area of the Domes where she and the baby could be monitored until the baby's delivery.
Just my take... who knows....

There are so many variables to this. I do wish they would of shown more of "Nursery" in the film, but they just had that short scene.
Either that or if they would of had some more dialogue about it.
I agree,Logan5. That would probably be the most feasable way of doing that. But considering how easily the computer system was frazzled at the end of the movie makes me wonder if it could handle such detailed tasks.
