It seems most of the people are just randomly wandering around during the day. The only jobs shown were:
Sandman
Terminated Runner clean-up
Doctor & assistant

Did the society in general not really need to work, as the computers ran the whole deal?

Oh, and I'm sad to see the need for escalator repairmen that far in the future too.

As far as I know,no one worked in the Domes except The Sandmen and Maintenence. That was it. Since they only had 30 years of life,they certainly weren't going to spend a third of it working.

When they had been on carousel and "renewed", were they stored and used as food ? If not, where did the food come from ? Were the general population just being farmed like cattle ? I know they got "protein from the sea" etc but like Box said, it "stopped coming". So that might be why they didnt have jobs, they were being fattened up for the pot ? :eek2: Or have I missed something cos I havent seen the movie for a while ? I will get the DVD soon.

remember in the book logan set his palm flower on a scanner to pay for his visit at the glass house and hallucimill.he was paid for working for d.s.,so it could be the same for the movie.Maybe only four hours a day,four days a week.

Steevo5,unfortunately,no one "Renewed" ever. When they went on Carousel,they were all killed. Everyone in the Domes were tricked into believing in Renewal,probably so they would all eventually go quietly to their deaths on Carousel. But,no one Renewed.
