I'm new to the "World of Logan's Run," but have been a fan since I first saw the film in the mid-80's. Like all Logan's Run fans, I want mine own 'working' version of the film props. But after having read through the various posts, I am displeased with what I find in regaurds to getting a 'working' version of the film prop. To that end, I'll make my own.
I have spoken with my former machining instructor at length on making a "carbide hand cannon" as he refers to props as and will fabricate the parts to any plan I submit along with the neccessary materials. That will leave the assembly to me.
Having bribed some Air Canada employees for a supply ot T6 aluminium and being the only importer of Dey carbide miner's lamps (they work on the same principle as the film prop) in Canada, I have some familarity with the workings of a "Sandman Blaster."
My biggest problem is the lack of a blueprint (or 'plan' in machinist terms) to machince the parts from and a assembly plan for the finshed parts. If anybody has built a working version of the "Sandman Blaster" and is willing to share their expertise and the neccessary plans to fabricate the parts, I would very much like to hear from you.
Sincerely
The REAL Francis
NOTE:
Just thought of one more thing. You should be cautious of anyone who offers you parts or a working replica.
Always check out the seller. There has been an unfortunate number of people who have been taken advantage of in this market.
