I saw it this weekend, I was pretty decent... I think maybe there were a few to many people on the crew though...Character developement can be difficult with a cast this large, it can get a bit confusing remembering who they all are. The special effects were pretty good, and the story idea has alot of potential. With a few small modifications I might work as a franchise. Over all it was enjoyable...not perfect, but enjoyable...

I saw 'Serenity' this past week too.

I thought it was very well done, and does have some great potential for future storylines and such. I had not seen the TV Series "Firefly' though, so I can't really compare the two - but if the show was anything like the movie, it would have been equally thrilling.

The characters were three dimensional, you really cared about a few of them, and the girl who played the psychic reader was great! Her fight scenes were incredible!! Even if it was a little unbelievable, it was still lots of fun seeing her kick some butt!!

Next to Episode III, I would say that this was oe of the best SciFi movies I saw this year. Reminded me in parts of Alien, Total Recall and the original Star Wars (A New Hope).

my buddy bruce is letting me borrow the firefly series on dvd... which comes as quite a good package and includes 3 episodes never aired on tv!
after seeing the first four episodes, i can only say that while the tone is a bit different in the show than in the movie (more western feel! which i like!) it is every bit the same quality in writing and acting...
in fact, i honestly think that some of the show's storylines would have been good for a movie. all in all, i'm very satisfied, even though i do miss the mule.

if only buffy and angel were this good....
