Title: Greetings from Dallas

I finally made the pilgrimage.

30 years ago Logan stood on that balcony yelling "Carousel is a lie!" and was arrested.

Today, I stood at the same spot, yelling the same thing...and was arrested. ;)

COOL! but the sandmen are better armed.

The view from that balcony made my heart jump like a kid on Christmas morning.

Nice to know that the interiors still look the same. I just wished that the huge Lifeclock crystal was still on the wall, and the fountains were still working. It looks really wonderful.

...yeah, I too miss the fountain.

Something interesting I learned today: The original design inspiration for the Great Hall is based upon the look of being under the ocean. The walls have round lumps a la barnacles, and the squares on the walls are arranged like rising air bubbles. The subtle designs on the side-balconies, look like fish riding a current. And to top it off the original landscaping included plants that resembled sea-weed (i.e. plants that are thin, long and green were considered good; multi-colored flowers were not allowed).

Wow! Great information, nems12! It fits in well with Box!! Fish, plankton and seagreens!! It all there!

Those are great pictures, nems12! Thanks for sharing them with us here!! The shot of you with the Security guy hauling your tail down to see Mother Computer is terrific!! I think it's great that the place still looks the same, too! I'm planning on taking a trip out there next year sometime. It's great that you got to do it this year - being it the 30th anniversary of the filming of the movie.

Do you plan on visiting any more sites while you're there?

Wow! You're right. I hadn't thought of it like that, but it really fits.

Yeah, I'm trying to see them all. When I get back home, I might write up a visitors guide for other Logan fans. I've already learned a few things that could save some time if I had the chance to do it over again.

Oh yeah, that would be cool. Putting on a sultry voice..."Last day, capricorns 15, year of the city 2274"

Those are fantastic shots Nem12, I always wondered if they had changed the interior, its nice to know they have'nt. I too would like to make it to Dallas one day, and get arrested in the same spot. I hope they never change it...

Oh my god, I had not seen these photos before. It's fantastic Nems12. All you observe one detail: the handrail is just the same 30 years after.

Excellent pics, Nems12. I have family in Dallas, but haven't been to visit yet.
