In the Logan's Run TV episode "Man out of Time", Paul Shenar played the lead role of Dr. Eakins, a young scientist working on the development of a Time Machine connected to "Project Sanctuary".

Paul gives us a terrific portrayal of a young, skilled and concerned scientist living in Logan's past who travels into the future to try and determine what will cause the impending Nuclear Holocaust that would ultimately destroy his world. His "Project Sanctuary" deals with reversing that chain of events, thus saving over 7 billion lives. But upon meeting Logan, Jessica and Rem on that 'future' trip, a puzzle is realized. If he successfully returns to his time and prevents the Nuclear war from happening, Logan's world would have never existed.
This episode is one of (if not THE) best episodes of the entire "Logan's Run" TV series. What makes it so is that it has a wonderful script (written by David Gerrold - under the alias "Noah Ward"), an engaging plot and lots of action (SIX, count 'em, SIX total stun victims!!!) and a marvelous guest actor (Paul Shenar) playing the lead role of Dr. David Eakins (who happens to get victimized TWICE by those pesky Stun guns).
So whatever happend to Paul Shenar....
Paul did many guest starring roles in his 70's television days, appearing on shows such as "Hart to Hart", "Wonder Woman" and "Dynasty". He also played "Orsen Welles" in the 1975 made for TV movie "The Night that Panicked America", a retelling of the famous "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast from the 1930s..
After television, he found his way to the Big Screen, often appearing in many action films (usually as the bad guy). He appeared in 1983's "Deadly Force" with Wings Hauser, 1986's "Raw Deal" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Brian De Palma's classic 1983 film "Scarface" as the memorable Alejandro Sosa (pictured below).

Paul also lent his voice to the 1982 animation film "The Secret of NIMH", voicing the ever-scheming character of Jenner.
His final film appearance was as another scientist - "Dr. Laurence" in 1988's ocean adventure "The Big Blue".
Paul passed away on October 11, 1989 at the age of 53 from AIDS. He was a very talented actor who had given us some truly memorable characters over the years.
