I don't know if anybody knew this, but it's been over twelve years since Richard Jordan (best known as Francis 7) died from a brain tumor. Last month, on August 30th, he passed away at the age of 55 (I think). It's still hard to believe that he is no longer with us. He was a good actor, and he played many memorable roles in a variety of first class film productions.
It's sad that both he and Sir Peter Ustinov (the Old Man) are no longer alive. Both of them and their wonderful talents are greatly missed. The world of acting will not be the same without them. :(
I didn't realise it was so long ago that Richard Jordan died. He was a wonderful actor, just perfectly cast for for the role of Francis, and also he made a wonderful Val Jean in Les Miserables. Missed very much, he was wonderfully talented.
That he was. He always managed to turn any role he played into a multi-dimensional character. I heard that he was also a member of the New York Shakespeare Festival. Now, that is something wonderful to be a part of. It would have been cool to have seen Richard on stage in one of those classic stage productions. He was a remarkable actor. Even Michael York stated in the audio commentary that Richard was a marvelous actor and full of life. Like I said, he will be missed.
Here is a photo that I have found. It's from Gettysburg (1993), Richards last movie.
