Uniqe Logo

This is my first tutorial ever, I hope you enjoy it. I used Photoshop CS for this tutorial, but Photoshop 7 will work just dandy.

01>> First lets create a new document. Use these settings.

02>> Now fill the background with a greyish blue colour. In this case i used #9AB1CC.

03>> Now get out the Eliptical Marquee Tool and create a circle in the centre of the work space. (Hold shift down while making the circle to keep it the same size) Try to centre it as best as you can.

04>> Next create a new layer, and fill the circle in with a darker shade of the background colour. I used #6288B6. Make sure after you fill it, you do not deselect your circular marquee.

05>> Now you have a filled circle, and we want to create circular rings. So now goto Select>Modify>Contract and put in 2 pixels. Now delete the selection. Now again goto Select>Modify>Contract and put in 2 pixels.

06>> Refill the new (smaller) selection with the same colour you filled the original cirlce.

07>> Now repeat the step 05, using the smaller circle. do it until you have 3 rings. And then make a circle in the middle of the 3 rings.

>> You should now have something that looks like the image below. If not, try doing the ring steps over again.

08>> Now create a new circle that fills a good portion of the inside of the rings. Use the Eliptical Marquee Tool, and centre the selection as best you can in the middle of the circle. (Remeber to hold down shift to ensure a perfect circle. Also turn on Grids to align it easier by going to View>Show>>Grid) Create a new layer and fill the circle with the colour #55769E.

09>> Now deselect the circle you just created (hit ctrl+d to deselect) Make sure you are still on the layer with the inside circle on it. Goto Filter>Distort>Wave. Use the following settings.
user posted image

>> Hit the randomize button a few times until you get something that you like.

10>> Click the layer with the rings on it, and move it to the top of the layers box, so the rings are on top of the distorted circle. Right click the rings layer and goto the Blending Options. We are going to add an Outer Glow. Use the following settings.

I have this now, and you should have something similar. Now all you have to do is add in text, and make it fit in nicely.

Using the same method, I did this. I thought it looked neat.
