Blagged from the radioandtelly site
Seriously good Channel 4 comedy about two perfectly-matched flatmates, who just don't know it. Clever use of classic TV soundtracks and camera angles make this a joy to watch - a refreshing change.
Spaced is an alternative sit-com that you either love or hate (if you've heard of it, that is) comedies around. I managed to miss some of the first run on Channel 4, so when I heard the DVD was due out, I didn't hesitate to place an advance order.
It's the story of two failed twenty-somethings, Tim and Daisy, living in a flat with some odd flatmates, Marsha and Brian (and Colin!), plus their friends Twist and Mike. Incredibly well written and making use of clever snippets of TV theme tunes, Playstation games and some very surreal camera angles, this is a truly excellent series.
Cast
Daisy Steiner - Jessica Stevenson
Tim Bisley - Simon Pegg
Mike Watt - Nick Frost
Brian Topp - Mark Heap
Marsha Klein - Julia Deakin
Twist Morgan - Katy Carmichael And am I right in thinking that MH also was in an episode of "I'm Alan Partridge"?!?!

He might have been, I remember seeing him in an ep of Swiss Tony on BB3. He often pops up when you least expect it!

I realise that nobody has replied to this since, like, december, but i am in love with the legend that is spaced. It is just amazing and I hope that you managed to see it since you last posted here. I think it is a work of genius and all the film exerts and info and struff they use is sooo clever i think. Most of it is lost on me, but the stuff I do get i love. Anyhoooo, hope somebody see this and takes pity on me and decides to reply. Speak soon to whoever cares.

Spaced is aceness. I don't know about Mark Heap, but Simon Pegg turns up for an episode of "I'm Alan Partridge" with the farming protest.
I'm hoping that Spaced 3rd series rumour is true :) they've been taunting us with maybe's on it for aaaaages.

I love Spaced. Absolutely brilliant. Mark Heap was the funniest in the whole show. Not as funny as he was playing Statham though! Hope the little rumour of a third series is true. Would be great for them to bring back some comedy genius now GW's finished!

Some on LJ posted this;
On the Mark Kermode podcast with Simon and Edgar:
Simon Mayo: "A question here from someone... Simon's planning a 1 hour special of Spaced, would he care to enlighten us when this will be"
Peggster: "I'm not, I'm not... It'd be nice to revisit the show in some respects, but in another I think it'd be slightly sad to see us all in our late 30's as those characters, you know? I think Spaced was of a particular time, and although I never say never because you never know, I think maybe... Spaced is... Finished.
aww :(
i really love Spaced!

aww I loved spaced too but I kinda think he's right I mean someone asked Dylan a similar question about back books and he just said a similar thing
it's like as much as I wanted friends to go on forever it was a wise choice to end it where they did - even if they could have pushed it just an ickle bit more
