I was just watchin ep8 again, and i noticed something... even though i am a devout G&C shipper, i thought i ought to point it out, and see what everyone else thought.

After mac has been told that he is going to die, he checks his watch. When he lets go of the balloon, he is holding his phone open....

now GW stuff like that isnt always circumstantial.... what if some of the ficcers on here are right, and mac told guy to go to the station, so that caroline could at least be happy with one of them??

i had so many more reasons, but have forgotten them now... watch the last few minutes again, and tell me what you think...

why does guy ask where mac is then?

i noticed that think with mac but he might have been texting caroline or sumthing...you do get bad reception at train stations (well i do) and no one said that mac sent her to the train station for all we know mac have nothing to do with it and that the train station was guy idea because he was intreged by the whole train set thingy

yeah and besides everyone messes with hula hoops and pretend theyre rings - i still do!!!! :lol: i think guy was always gonna meet up wit caro at the train station - mac could hav been checkin it wasnt too late to be ringing his family and then thats why he went off on his motorbike.......

... without his helmet... he doesnt care anymore.... :(

I don't think that Mac sent Guy to the station, simply because Guy said the reason he was there was to "see what I could be having if I was a bit more ginger" - he was there to see them off, if that makes sense. He'd as good as given Caroline up by this point, hense why he was so shocked when she suddenly said she'd marry him!

Also, in the purely practical sense, had mac txted him, asking him to find Caroline at the station, he wouldn't have had time to dress up in a suit etc before doing so...

i don't think mac sent him. i'm not sure as to whether mac was actually waiting for caroline at the hospital....cos i'm not convinced it was him who sent the train.

cos wasn't guy talking about trains earlier in the ep? i can't remember, mite have to go watch the ep again and scream at the tv :lol:

mac must have sent the train!

they were all talking about it in teh operating theatre cos caroline sed she never had a train set as a child and she would buy one for her kids.

but mac stole caroline's hula hoops and looked at the after she thought he'd proposed on the bench

hmm & he nicked the remote control car for her :)

maybe, guy somehow found out and wanted to do some medaling :o

i really hope mac didnt send guy though - cos it would be so sweet if guy did that all himself....

I think it was def mac that sent the train but i think he told guy to meet him and caroline at the station(usin his phone) even though he wasnt going to be there so that caroline wouldn be abandoned. An d am so glad he did cos am a carguy shipper!! :P

i just rewatched this episode and i'm starting to think that mac DID ring guy and tell him to meet caro there, because mac must have realised he couldn't be there and didn't want to let her down, and also, if he was going to die he couldn't give her what she wanted so he sent guy! aww now i love mac even more!!! yay mac what a heroic floppy haired legend!! whooo HALF TERM!

lol yeah as guy said, mac is supposed to be 'the moral one'... lol i just dont think that mac would have 'happened' to have had his phone in his hand and checked his watch.... unless that is to make us think that, only for it to turn out to be guy's idea....

they had better answer all of our questions in the xmas ep!

Yep, especially if they're not doing a third series, but I live in hope.

I just don't want them to leave it on another cliff hanger, with no possibility of more GW! That would be terrible.

Ok, here is my conclusion (I hear you all wait with baited breath):

Guy says to Caroline at the station 'Where's Mac?' and 'I wanted to see what I could've had if I'd been a bit more ginger', which leads me to believe neither of them have a clue where Mac is. I reckon Guy was told by Martin or Mac that they were going away for the weekend, because he knew when and where to turn up. I think he turned up just to say goodbye, and maybe (if he was lucky) try and win over Caroline before she went.

Which he did. :wub:

I just think they forgot Mac had the tickets, when they ran onto the train. :D

I like this idea, because I used to be Carmac, and am now Caroguy, so I think this makes them both sweet and lovely. Mac coame up with the idea, but sweet Guy was the one who actually turned up and was there for Caroline (I understand there was extenuating circumstances for Mac!), and that's what she really needed.

*Sighs*

:) I think the same, I don't think Mac told Guy to go there, but I do think it was Mac who sent the model train invitation.
