Ok, so remember that article that was talking about the bananary kiss? The kiss which involves crying, laughing etc etc?! We didn't get that in last night's episode which can only mean that it will happen in the Christmas episode!! I mean, it would explain laughing and crying....you know cos everyone thought mac is going to die (or maybe they're kissing cos he is dying) and then laughing because of the bananaryness of it!!

I'm holding out for the whole, Mac wakes up from coma, remembers everything, eats a banana, kisses Caro! They live happily ever after! Optimism people! Its all that will keep me going through the next 7 months!!! Apart from Series ONe!! haha

Well, as much as I'd rather Caroline was with Mac, Guy did stick up for him. He sad that Mac wasn't a b**tard, he was actually quite a nice guy, so I can't really feel angry with him. And he did look very hot in that last episode, especially at the train station :) hehe.

Awww, poor Mac, he has to be okay, it's some mess up with results, or it's not the thing they think it is. Or Sue's planted them because she was annoyed he got a restraining order, hence the balloons. Could she be that mean? Who knows :unsure:

this will now be my home for seven months, this thread, in which we can all discuss the impending bananary kiss that will symbolise the whole new beginning for mac and caroline! they will be together, they had to be!

either mac wakes up, or maybe mac has gone through whatever treatment he needs and he going to find caroline, something happens which i haven't yet thought through!!......and then for some reason there is a banana! and then CarMac loveliness!! haha.;

and, had a dream last night with JRT in, it was really good, met him in the middle of no where and had a good old chat......I think I started it by saying 'dis...a...pointed' like he says to caroline in season 1 after she says still guy!! haah. he thought i was really funny, but then i woke up.....not good!!

As much as I'd like to think of the Bananary kiss as hope, I can't see how the writers are going to pull Mac back from dying - Mac, who we respect as a good doctor, said himself that the results signal "Game Over" (I feel ill every time I hear those words now) and if he thinks there's no way of saving someone with those test results, then there's no way they can "miraculously" cure him.....

If there are kisses with Caro and Mac, who's to say it isnt on his deathbed? Just think - we're still owed a wedding and a funeral, and I hate to say that I'm pretty sure who theyre going to be for : Mac's funeral and Caro and Guy's wedding.... :sob


Another thought: They film loads of footage for Green Wing that isnt used - who's to say that the banana scene didn't end up on the cutting room floor?

no i'm pretty sure they were the same article, like the bananary kiss was meant to be emotional and arousing or something!
i guess it could be on Mac's deathbed, i'm hoping it really isn't, I realise that if those results are right then there is no way he is going to survive, my only hope is that the results are faked by sue (congratulations balloons, restraining order anger, and happening to be there at the right time as mac was about to go into the bad news room). and also maybe he will wake up from the coma, or it will pick up with the ambulance still on the edge of the cliff ........it could easily change from the whole camper van to ambulance, and maybe it was caroline's dream coming to end or mac's (hence him saying game over.....you know, like the dream is over). i realise I'm clutching at straws but I'm still in denial and I just don't want to believe that the writers would be that mean to us!!
especially since they didn't even offer much of an explanation.
another thing is when mac fades away, maybe that is him leavning this dream world and actually going back to reality. i don't know, i just don't want to accept he's dying! or dead!!
I'm also suspicious of Guy's unexpected appearance at the train station, when it was obviously mac who wanted to meet her there! I think there is something sinister going on here, well thats my opinion anyway, if you don't want to believe Guy and Sue are capable of this - thats fine! I, however, am willing to go to extremes and say that its possible guy and sue teamed up for this one (i mean, he was seen in her office saying that he loved caro and whining a lot wasn't he? i don't think we saw him leave did we? therefore a missed conversation).................i just think that there are so many options, and i'm favouring all those that are going to be good for mac and caroline and their relationship! I'm rejecting anything that says Mac is actually going to die, or Caro and Guy will get married!! I'm already emotionally unstable from last night, that might just tip me over the edge hearing that!!! haha

i dont like mac as much anymore its more pity coz he's dieing (suposedly) he's scared of commitment and caroline has so much love to give and guy is perfect for that coz he love her more and would do any thing(and he does love her so much, apart from guy being arrogant and all that stuff they kind off suit each other she bring the best out in him and no one can deni that)

It does seem strange that the whole time the series was veering towards Carmac... and then suddenly does a U-turn. Strange indeed.

My theory is that the writers assume that if they kill Mac off, who is GW's 'star attraction', then they wont have to write a new series as nobody will want to watch it without the 'lion's mane'. Then they can go to bed and eat mini-marsbars to make up for the guilt.

The kiss thing... ok, I don't want to soound weird but do you think that it could between Mac's spirit and Caro?! They could do that cheesy thing where his spirit comes back from the dead and has a talk with Caro.

OK I have been out of the house and done "other things" but I am still depressed and slightly annoyed to be so upset over fictional characters.

I am veering towards Sue being involved in doctoring tests. She's got to react some way to be given a restraining order keeping her away from "the lion's mane" and we know she'll stop at nothing.

I also read somewhere else that maybe Mac's results got mixed up with the yoyo man's.

I am totally with you on this one IMO....yesterday was my yr13 leaver's day, and I feel slightly bad about the the fact that I got a darn sight more upset about the supposed dying of a fictional character than I did about leaving the school that I've attended and loved for the past 7 years.

hehe. That's quite funny, mind you I can remember not really being upset at my 6th form Leaving Do - probably because I still had all the exams to come, so knew I'd still be seeing people.

Just remembered Mac being given the all clear to go back to work after he came out of his coma (episode 2). Wouldn't all the tests he'd had then have thrown up this life-threatening illness.

Have been trawling my way through all the threads on the C4 Forum (it's manic over there) and loads of people are going with the theory that either Guy or Sue have doctored the test results.

Mind you they're also going with the "dream sequence" theory as well. Hah the last one I read was that Martin was in the coma and had dreamt everything :rolleyes:

lol, i've just read that as well...it was quite amusing :D i've been doing the same with the Stephen Mangan website and everyone is a bit shocked it seems...and quite a few people are very distraught over this thing with mac...myself included.

Distaught doesn't even come close! My family have got really annoyed with me endlessly theorising and going "He's going to die. How can they do this to him!? I'm so miserable!" around the house. My parents would be even crosser if they know I was spending all day on here, seeing as I'm meant to be revising for my Alevels in a month, :-S

yeh it does seem unneccessarily cruel!! i think if they were going to kill off mac they would have done it in the christmas special instead of telling us now, leaving the news to simmer and eventually cool down completely (i like my use of cooking analogies) and just when we've all resigned ourselves to the fact that he is going to die they'll shatter that whole thing and turn our worlds upside down! or maybe the right way round because i'm currently upside down now with the news of mac's death!

i read on the spoilers forum (so skip a couple of lines if you dont want to know) tha there might be a series 3... in that case, they wouldnt commission one if JRT wasnt there...

Also, i dont think that they would kill off mac (i have a whole theory, but i cant remember it... i will write it when i remember), cos the funeral could well be karen's.

you know that clip of the funeral scene, that mac wasnt in, that everyone is going on about? well i think that they have just said that mac might die, and then not shown him in that clip, in order to make everyone worry that mac might not be alive. but i think that its possible that that is just to make everyone worry more about it... which might mean that he is in fact fine..

did everyone notice him driving off without his helmet at the end :( he doesnt care anymore.... :cry :(

One of the writers has confirmed in his blog that there will be no series 3, which means Mac could well die - stops the petitioners in their tracks :(

he didn't confirm or deny a season 3! he said that the hospital was not booked, and did the poster not know about the christmas special.......to me that does not say that there will be no more green wing but sounds more like they want to shoot this down just at the moment.....

the second series has only just finished, i didn't expect them to begin shooting immediately for a new series! he may well just be saying 'not yet'..........

mmm maybe they will try and keep this filming a secret, to make it more of a surprise if another series does come out. also, it will get diehard GW fans off the writers' backs!!!
