From Heat Magazine this week:
"It was only ever meant to be six half-hour episodes - nine hours later we're still loving the show we'd affectionately call "The Wing" if the West Wing hadn't got there first. Will Caroline and Mac end up together? will that random camel ever be explained? Will Martin be able to stop Guy doing something out of a Greek tragedy (in the grossest possible sense?) before the credits roll?
All we can say is that it's a real cliffhanger of an ending."
Okay, this kinda confirms the almost spoilers that I've been hearing: Mac bets Guy that he can't bed Joanna...without realising that Joanna is his mother (See? Oedipus complex, anyone?) Oh my God. That would make Guy and Martin brothers...
Also, Caroline and Sue try to convince Mac not to move to Sheffield. Maybe his girlfriend is in Sheffield? the girlfriend form the slave auction episode? Is she different from the cruel girlfriend mentioned earlier in the series?
And Joanna tries to win back Statham (don't ask me why) who is obsessed with the curate.

My first thought was 'poor Guy', my second was 'poor Martin'! lol.
Guy did say in one of the early episodes that he never knew his mother as she died when he was born, but I just thought he was making it up to get off with that nurse - "That worked well. Must try it again on someone with smaller teeth."!
It could be possible that Guy could be Joanna's son instead of Martin - swapped babies or something. I would really like to think that Martin might have a nice family somewhere.
Anyway, I REALLY hope both of them are in the next series.

Oh dear - well it had to have an Oedipus gag in there somewhere.
Can't wait!!!

Times critics' choice:
An enjoyable finale to the surreal medical comedy, that includes a nice - and unexplained - walk-on part for a camel in the opening sequence. Joanna has to compete with God for the attention of Statham, and Caroline has to pursuade Mac she is more desirable than his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Martin discovers a secret that makes Jerry Springer look like the teletubbies and drives Guy to the edge. If things don't look up, he could be on life support by series 2.
