I watched an episode i accidentally recorded. It really made me laugh.. well, i guess it is written by the same people who do green wing. Victoria Pile, right?
Or no?

kittyofdoom - June 4, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
Yep, Replica-cat, it's done by Victoria Pile also, I don't know about written by though, probably creative director.

PS. Welcome to the forum! :)

Ah yes, smack the pony is so fabby! I love the bits that are on the dating video... here's some of my favourites...

*surrounded by young kids* "I'm very fertile"

"I was just about to say that I'm into special effects... and now I've just set fire to my head. Ow."

"I have an obsessive compulsive disorder. Everything must be neat and tidy, I hate mess. *pause* Unfortunately I'm also bone bastard idle."

"Hello, my name's Kirsty. And I would like to find a gay man... who fancies women. Or someone who's willing to pretend."

And my personal favourite....

"I'm a beautiful lady, with long, golden hair and huge breasts. If you pick me, I'll take your breath away. I can go all night if you want me to. Come, come aboard the love train!"

hehe - and then her mobile rings and she says "don't worry" and walks off

Just got the DVD yesterday. You can tell it's produced/written by the same people as GW as so many bits are "similiar".

eg: Sally Phillips doing her 'tongues' bit when kissing Darren Boyd outside her house at the end of a date.

and the doctor who doesn't know what she's doing - reminds me a lot of Sue :)

The DVD just isn't long enough though - I mean two series squashed into 60 odd minutes

Mac'sBestGirl - June 19, 2006 11:47 AM (GMT)
IMO- is the DVD worth the money? cos im a poor starving student and I havent seen much of Smack the Pony but for some reason I really want it!

IMO - June 19, 2006 01:01 PM (GMT)
Well amazon are selling it for £8.97, but it's the sort of DVD you watch once and then put away in a cupboard for 2 years before watching again  I think if I was you I'd stick it on your birthday/Christmas list ;)

Mac'sBestGirl - June 19, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
:o £9!! thats less than half the price i saw it in HMV earlier! Unfortunatly my birthday and christmas are only 4 days apart and im sooooo impatient! i may end up buying it but i bought spaced today instead cos it was only £5.

Babble babble babble

Spaced is excellent :) Sorry, I know, off topic.

I want to buy the Smack The Pony DVD at some point, but I'm not in any great rush.

The original price was £19.99. I think if I'd spent that amount on it I would have expected a heck of a lot more for my money. But yeah £8.95 is a good price for what is really a very short DVD.

So did you get Spaced in HMV for that price - that's good, I might have to investigate :ph43r:

Is that the best of smack the pony dvd? That was the price in HMV, I thought it was too much. Would that be good for someone who hasnt seen much of it? or shud I get the whole series? In fact, can I get the whole series?

Yes, I got Spaced in HMV, they have lots on sale, I also got Jimmy Carr live for £8, and black books was £5.99.

I got a bit carried away today! :blush

Sadly there's only a Best Of DVD and I lied before, it's only 80 minutes long, not 90

Anyway are you sure you're really an impovised (is that a proper word) student, you seem to have spent a lot of money in HMV

snoopybing - June 20, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
Even if I was on my last tenner, I would spend every penny in HMV.

Actually, no, thats a lie... I'd spend it in Fopp. (Which is like a cheapy HMV)

The DVD is alright... But I'd rather the full series came out, cause its a very good show.

lol :blush out spending my overdraft again (on stuff I dont need in HMV and TopShop)! The mark of any true student! Anyway, everything I bought was under £10 (each), so it doesnt count, right?

snoopybing - July 4, 2006 02:09 PM (GMT)
Absolutely! I never feel guilty about buying any CD under a tenner.

Thats the rule.

MUSE CD out today! I need to get to Fopp.... :runaway

FuzzyCerts - February 23, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
I just bought seasons 1 and 2 from Germany (amazon.de). Apparantly, that's the only country where you can get the full seasons and not just the 'Best Of' dvd.

The original soundtrack is on the discs, so you won't have to watch them in German :)

bingle - February 23, 2007 03:38 PM (GMT)
Oooh thanks for that tip. I'd been wondering if you could get the full series anywhere!!

CupboardLady - April 1, 2007 04:00 PM (GMT)
Yup- the German series DVDs are available on Ebay and it's free on 4oD (or is you have an NTL box, go onto the 'On Demand' menu then it's under comedies on TV Hits :D (what? I'm an impovrished student too!)

guyoline - April 1, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
ooh yayness :excited I soo going to do that this week - you know I'm not going to get much work done now but oh well

thankies Jemma :D

IMO - June 20, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
Quite a few of the ones in German (obviously off the German DVD's) are now up on Youtube. I got hooked and wasted about an hour and a half the other night just watching STP on Youtube B)

IMO - July 13, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)
STP is on E4 tonight at 9.55 pm - just if anyone's interested *shrugs* :D

littlered - July 13, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
 I read that at exactly 9.55.

IMO - July 14, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)

littlered - July 14, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
