He is very very funny. I just love all the facual expressions and his stuttering is just done to perfection B)

I think Mark Heap is bordering on genius. He's excellent in everything I've seen him in (Spaced, Big Train, Green Wing, Happiness). No one could play Alan quite the same :)

only problem is, i think that the gw writers realised that he was received really well, so they might have put one too many statham scenes in some places... i dont want to see too many, in case it ruins the funnyness...

just a random piece of info - i was doing my drama GCSE performance, and i had to play a scientist for part of it, so (cos we got to write our own scripts etc) because they were over-intelligent, i kinda drafted in a little statham-esque inspiration, and ended up appearing fairly similar in parts of it lol. well if i get a good grade, i will love green wing even more lol.

Statham's my favourite character; he is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny it's unbelievable.

I know the writing's very good but there's no way the character would be anything like as good as he is if it weren't for Mark Heap's playing him. I wasn't familiar with Mark Geap until GW but I truly do think he's a real comedy genius and should be up there with some of the old-school comedians/comedy actors in rank - the ones who are legends. He's definitely a bit of a John Cleese.

I do feel the character's particularly good with Joanna, though. I was disappointed when he wasn't with her. I mean, he was still v. v. funny (The alphabet song is knicker-wettingly hysterical!) but Alan and Joanna = hilarity.

I love the Statham/Boyce scenes - they are so funny! The two characters and actors play off of each other really well.
Having said that, some of my funniest Statham scenes are the ones where he's on his own..

'I wish they'd leave a name' (or something like that!) being absolutely hysterical!

And the fact that he's on the phone to the breakdown service and he gets his hazard triangle out - 'saftey first'!

Those moments had me in stitches!! He's so concerned with 'proper behaviour'!!
