It's a toss up between Mac, Sue and Caroline (I believe I posted that in another thread here but I can't find the entry now!) but, honestly, I think the programme would be diminished without all the characters present (with the possible exception of Angela, though I did like the cartwheel scene!)

But without Guy/Mac relationship the show woodnt b as good
Same with Sue....shes just.....PERFECT for the show
And without Caroline it wood b dull and we woodnt hav Mac/Caroline
Without Boyce and Alan we woodnt hav tht humour wich just makes me laff so much everytime i see it
And without Martin Guy would have no-one to be mean to and there wouldnt be that very cute Mac/Martin relationship :P
So yes i conclude ALL characters are needed to make the woderous thing that is Green Wing
