Stephen was on the advert for this, reading from The Jolly Postman by Allan Ahlberg, which made me very happy.

really really?
what is the jolly postman?
and when is the programme on? and what is it about?

It's a group of programmes on TV this week about the really low literacy standards in Britain today - so many kids leave school not knowing how to read. :( The Jolly Postman is a great children's book by the wonderful Allan Ahlberg.

oh is that the one where the postman goes to all the different people (it may have been mursery rhyme characters i cant rememebr) and each time you have to read the letter and im sure it rhymes,
and in one bit you have to use a magnify glass to read it,
probably being a bit vague but was that it?
or was it the one where the postman delivers all the parcels except one which doesnt have a name on it, and its because its his birthday and the parcels he has been delivering were for a suprise party back at his, and he had forgotten his own birthday?
they are the only 2 postman stories i can think of (except of course postman pat!)
