Title: Guyball

OK so we all know that there's a Guyball club at King's College London but whilst extremely bored and Wikisurfing I found this:

QUOTE
Queen Elizabeth's High School, Gainsborough

As of 2nd April 2007, it has been proposed that Guyball be played as a house event between the four school houses. Notices were sent out to the entire school to see how many people were interested. The main people who turned up for the first briefing were about 50 bewildered Year 7's, and a host of Sixth-Form students who were mostly fans of Green Wing. It is currently being decided amongst staff as whether to go ahead with the competition, as it would add a bit more character to the more in-line syllabus. Mathematics teacher Nigel Bowler is a fan of the show, and is set to see Guyball into the future.

I am insanely jealous and only wish that I'd thought of this before I left school. I did try to get pooh-sticks as a house event but the plans sort of collapsed after one lunchtime's discussion.

'50 bewildered Year 7s' I'm not surprised they were bewildered - and I imagine they were even more so when somebody tried to explain the rules to them!!

Love the idea of Guyball in schools though (although perhaps with a moderated version of insulting your opponents!!)... perhaps I should remember that one for when I'm teaching!!

Lol i got rather excited reading the beginning of that article as my school was also called 'Queen Elizabeth High School' sadly not in Gainsborough...cant see my old headteacher being too interested in Green wing sadly!

unfortunatly we dont have guyball, we have the next best thing - space hopper racing, and extreme frizzbee,
but only when you get to year 12, before that its the usual 800m javelin etc
guyball would be amazing, i recon (sp?) our school may be able to get a team out, if anyone in manchester area is up for it? i actually havtn a clue about the rules or how many people are involved, but it would be fun wudnt it!

how do you spell reckon?

Like that - reckon. :)

Oh, you should see if you can organise guyball at your school/area, Chapman!! How cool would that be?!

Does anybody have a topmiler of their own? It would be so fantastic if I could gather some green wing fans and we all could go to the park and play guyball! :D Haha. (Well, it's a bit difficult in here when there's only one or two gw fans in the whole Finland...)

I would love to do a topmiler for myself... I have to keep my eyes open at flee market. Maybe I will find a suitable basket... ;)
